Tech🧑‍💻 Nvidia became the newest member of the exclusive trillion-dollar club last week, as an exceptionally strong earnings report led to a breathtaking $184B rally in a single day. The cause of that day every founder dreams of? AI. Specifically, the demand for AI chips. Every AI company needs a lot of them, and Nvidia provides them. The result is a 30-year-old company that is just now peaking.

Startups 📊 It’s well-known that venture funding is going through a downturn, and seed funding is no exception. Since its peak in Q1 2022, seed funding has continually dropped in both number of deals and total value invested while the time between the seed round and Series A has continued to lengthen. Overall, it’s a tough time to be a startup, regardless of what stage you are at.

Economy 💵 President Biden has finally signed into law the newest debt ceiling deal, ending the prolonged standoff that put the nation’s economy in peril. There’s some stuff in the deal that might be of interest to you (increased funding for the IRS, the end of the student loan payment pause, and no 30% crypto mining tax), but the important thing is that the United States has averted financial disaster.
